 Basic Advice

 Helpful Links

If you are having problems succeeding at a game, the links opposite should be able to assist you. There are, however, one or two basic steps that you should take first:

1. Check the difficulty settings. This should be obvious, but if you are having problems, just check that you have set everything to the lowest difficulty in the game. Don't be embarrassed. This is often the best way to learn how a game works.

2. Make sure you have any patches. The difficulty of games is often tweaked via patches. A patch may also address any bugs which could stop you from proceeding in the game. Patches are normally available from the Publisher's website.

3. Make sure the game is running smoothly. If the gameplay is jerky, you'll have difficulty playing. Turn the resolution and graphic options down in the game's settings to ensure that you have a smooth frame rate.

4. Use the right controller. It makes sense that a game is far easier to play if you're using the right type of controller - a joystick for flight sims, a steering wheel for driving games etc.
